Sarah Shay is a Denver-based artist, her painting practice explores the spaces where our private and public lives intersect. She is interested in I am interested how painting can deepen the ways in which we walk through the world, and shift our gaze beyond our own perspective to sites of collaboration and connectivity.
Sarah is informed by her experience growing up in Chicago, where brownstone flats layer the cityscape, and windows and gangways ( and a good game of, ding dong ditch) offered small glimpses into the private worlds of her neighbors. She currently resides in Denver.

My painting practice focuses on mapping relationships in the cultural and geographic landscape where our lived experiences meet.
